AlmaMundi provides an ideal space to have time for yourself, relax and be in nature.

However, there is a wealth of cultural, sporting and leisure activities right on our doorstep, including visting beautiful caves just 10 minutes drive away, kayaking the river Ebro, cycling the Via Verde, hiking in Els Ports National Park, observing the flamingoes in the Delta del Ebro, visiting the medieval castle of Miravet, snorkelling in hidden away coves of the mediterranean coast...

To make the most of all these activities, we recommend you having you own mode of transport.

Culture

Our local village, just 4km away. Go for a complete catalan experience with a full lunch menu in the Xiringuito, one of the 5 restaurants of the village.

Pinell de Brai

Also just 4km from AlmaMundi, Pinell de Brai is the gateway to the Terra Alta and its wine. Visit the Cathedral del Vi, designed by a studnt of Gaudi's, and taste all the wines of the region.

10 km as the crow flies from AlmaMundi, Miravet offers spectacular riverside views, an interesting visit of its medieval castle and over a dozen artisan pottery makers.

Just 12km from AlmaMundi, Rasquera specialises is the confection of the reknowned Pastissets pastries and locally made goat cheese.

Sports in Nature

Cycling

Cycle the Via Verde, starting just 4km from AlmaMundi. The Via Verde is a reconverted train track that winds its way through stunning gorges, dark tunnels and over beautiful bridges. Contact the Estacio for bike rental, or just ask Etienne.

With three large mountain ranges within 30km, including Els Ports National Park reaching 1440m, there is an infinite choice of hikes to do in the area, for all levels and abilities.

L'Ametlla de Mar is a seaside village just 30km from AlmaMundi and offers great under water experiences.

 
 

Leisure / Nature

The impressive Balneari de Cardo dates back centuries. Initially constructed and used as a large monastery, it was converted to a thermal spa resort in the early 20th century and now lies derelict. It is surrounded by 12 beautiful chapels, once used as hermitages annexed to the monastery. 

Just 8km from AlmaMundi, there is a surprisingly large and beautiful network of caves, with stalagmites, stalacttitesn columns and more. Guided visits only, see here for more information.

Llagut

Enjoy a scenic and informative boat trip up and down the Ebro departing from our local village, Benifallet, just 4km from AlmaMundi. The tour includes a guided narrative of local flora, fauna and history.

The expansive fertile flat lands of the Ebro Delta are home to a myriad of wildlife species, rice fields and extensive white sandy beaches. About 50km from AlmaMundi, the Delta definitely deserves a day trip during your stay.
